Staffordshire pottery majolica Manxman teapot, c. 1880. Modelled as a sailor with three lags, sat upon a coiled rope. One of his legs forms the spout, whilst a section of rope forms the handle. His tunic is decorated in underglaze cobalt blue, and is moulded with two triskelion motifs. His head and hat form the cover. Covered in majolica glazes. Height – 24 cm, 9 1/2”. Width – 25.5 cm, 10”. Depth – 14 cm, 5 1/2”. Condition – Excellent. No damage. No restoration.
