George Jones majolica Cucumber Tray, c. 1875. Finely moulded as a cucumber vine, with overlapping leaves and flowers, terminating in a baby cucumber as a form of handle to one end. Decorated in typical majolica glazes; the reverse with a ‘tortoiseshell’ glaze. Impressed factory mark, and model numbers to the reverse. Length – 42 cm, 16 1/2”. Width – 22 cm, 8 5/8”.
